Voting Rights Alliance

The Voting Rights Alliance (VRA) had an existing Squarespace website, but as they had grown over the past few years, the site design no longer fitted their requirements. With over 2500 unique visitors a month, it was important to have a user friendly, colourful design to showcase the VRA's work and keep visitors up to date with the latest events.

Hot Lizard Designs suggested a new template and layout, with the Home page set up to display snippets of the most important areas of the site, so visitors could then click through if they wanted to learn more. Purple was chosen as the accent colour to match the Transformative Justice Coalition colours.

Videos were given their own page (a ‘video vault’) so the VRA could easily add to those as new videos were made, and member logos were added to replace the original list of names.

Black History Month was originally set up as an interactive calendar, but as the calendar moved forward with each month, those posts were no longer displayed. As a work around, those posts were put into a blog display on a single page so they were always visible. The excerpt was also shortened to give a more uniform display, and additional information added to each post to give readers more of each individual story.

You did a great job on the Transformative Justice Coalition website / VotingRightsAlliance.org! You were professional and also reviewed the site prior to being retained, and thought about things and the best way to do information - and got the site done early! We appreciate everything and would definitely recommend!
