Design Process
Here's what to expect when working with Hot Lizard Designs — a clear, efficient process designed for busy business owners who want a high-quality Squarespace website without months of back-and-forth.
INITIAL DISCUSSION
Contact HLD and tell us more about your project. This can be via email, phone, or Zoom - whichever is easiest for you. We will discuss scope of your project, options, timelines, availability and if we are a good fit.
PROPOSAL
We send you an e-proposal which includes scope of work and investment fee, and an invite for 50% deposit to secure your design slot if you wish to proceed.
SECURE YOUR DESIGN SLOT
Once your deposit is paid, we confirm the next steps and finalise a start date for your project that allows you enough time to gather your content before the project starts.
START PROJECT
Here is where you let us do what we do best. Using your content we structure and design your website to make it user-friendly, mobile responsive, and SEO optimised where possible. We also add designer touches to elevate your site design for a customised, individual look to match your branding.
REVIEW DRAFT
When your draft site is ready for review, you are notified with access details so you can see your new site for the first time! Feedback is actively encouraged as we want you to be delighted with the final result.
REVISIONS
Your site design is fine-tuned based on your feedback and you are kept updated on the progress of those revisions. These are usually carried out within 24-48 hours.
HANDOVER
Both parties complete a final check to make sure everything is displayed properly and working as it should before it goes live.
A tutorial or written guide with links is delivered, and you are given full admin access. Your domain name is connected and your site goes live!
Once the 50% balance is paid, full site ownership is transferred to you.
