It depends on the scope of your project, but most redesigns are completed within two weeks. You'll receive a clear timeline as part of your project scope before any work begins — so there are no surprises.

It's a common concern, and an honest one. Some fluctuation in rankings can occur after any website change — but this is usually temporary, and the improvements made during a redesign (faster load times, better structure, optimised page titles and meta descriptions) are designed to strengthen your SEO over time, not undermine it.
To protect what you've already built, existing URLs and content are preserved wherever possible, and proper 301 redirects are set up where structural changes are needed.
If you're already tracking your site through Google Analytics or Google Search Console, you'll be well-placed to monitor performance before and after — and see the improvements take effect.
