Beyond the design fee, you'll need a domain name (from $20/year) and Squarespace hosting (from $200/year), paid directly to those providers. Unlike other platforms, Squarespace includes security and maintenance in your annual hosting fee — no surprise monthly charges. Our clients also receive 20% off their first year of Squarespace hosting.

Most Squarespace websites are completed within one to two weeks from when we receive your content. The pace is also influenced by your availability for feedback and the complexity of your requirements — turnaround times are confirmed at the proposal stage. Absolutely. Every website we build is fully mobile-optimised and tested across a range of devices. With more than half of all web traffic coming from mobile, this is a non-negotiable part of every Hot Lizard Designs project — not an optional extra.

Once you confirm you'd like to proceed, we require 50% of the quoted amount upfront to secure your design slot, with the remaining 50% due on completion. You'll see a draft version of your site within 3–4 days so we can make sure we're on the right track before finalising everything.

You know your business best, so we recommend providing your own content as a starting point — imagine explaining what you do to a potential client and you'll be surprised how much you already have. We now also offer content assistance for an additional fee if you'd prefer a hand getting it right.

You do — always. This is a founding principle of Hot Lizard Designs. If you have an existing Squarespace account, we work as a Contributor. For new builds, full ownership is transferred to you once the final balance is paid. As a bonus, clients who set up through us receive 20% off their first year of Squarespace hosting.

Yes — Squarespace is designed to be managed by non-technical business owners, and we make sure you're confident doing so. Every project includes an optional online training session covering the key areas of your site. Squarespace also provides a comprehensive library of tutorials for ongoing reference.
