Something a little different - a website to display historical research about a small Turkish village and the families that lived there.

Jonathan already had a website to showcase his research, but it was dated with small fonts, difficult to add new information and images, and not mobile responsive. He wanted to move to Squarespace for an easier to edit platform, as well as more accessible for those looking to find out more (and contribute) to his research.

Hot Lizard Designs transferred the majority of the existing content over to the new Squarespace site, along with additional information and images that Jonathan had sourced since the last website was built. There was a huge amount of information, and so the layout was adapted to make it easier for visitors to search for specific information according to different categories.

Some pages also feature a tabbed layout to help separate out larger categories, e.g. under Places of Worship, there are different tabs for different buildings. This is a useful feature to prevent the ‘endless scroll’ and highlight particular places or events.

Another features were the integration of a translation widget with custom language selector in the main header, embedded videos, and parallax scrolling images in the main banner images.

Jonathan also took advantage of the 30 minute training session with Kati via Zoom so he felt more confident updating his own website. The site was completed within a week, and Jonathan was thrilled with the end result.

Kati - It looks great! Thanks a million.......And, finally, finally....WHAT A GREAT JOB YOU DID!!!!!!!
