Polina needed a facelift for her Squarespace site. She had built the site herself, but wanted a more professional look to attract new customers. The original design had a very basic landing page, with a lot of white space and it wasn’t immediately clear where to go next to find out more / purchase the product.
The colour scheme was dark, with just the black header and footer sections, and although there were links to other pages, the display and layout didn’t make it easy to see where to go next.
Another aspect that needed attention was the e-commerce side. Although there was just one product for sale, customers had the option to purchase it as once-off, or on a subscription basis. Those customers who created accounts could login to track their purchases and payment methods, but again, it wasn’t immediately clear where to do so.
Some of the changes that Hot Lizard Designs implemented were:
changing the background header to white for a cleaner look
using the blue from the logo as the accent colour to highlight call to action buttons and navigation menu links
redesigning the navigational menu so that the customer login was easier to find
giving the landing page more impact and with a more luxurious feel with a change of images and full width banners to promote different areas of the site
customising the testimonial quotes so they are easier to read
