The Pebble Church
Heritage-listed building situated in the rural district of Carapooee, Central Victoria.
Built in 1869, the Pebble Church was constructed from white quartz pebbles collected by miners and their families from their gold mines in the surrounding area. The community had close ties to this beloved heritage building - three generations of the same family got married here!
In 2020 the community raised funds to save the church. It is now used for community events and public and private celebrations. The association wanted a website to increase awareness about this special historic building, to allow visitors to donate online, share stories from the past and promote upcoming events.
We also held an online training session so they would feel comfortable updating the site themselves - and they have made a few edits already!
